Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision


What are the benefits of NVQ's?

A convenient route to qualification for busy professionals with flexible times and venues to suit the candidate. A candidate can commence a NVQ at a time during the calendar year that is most suitable for him/her. Assessment based on performance at work. This qualification is offered through Pearson Edexcel as the awarding body.


Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision

The successful completion of the Level 4 NVQ qualification in Construction Site Supervision enables candidates to take the Supervisor and Manager CSCS Health and Safety test and, if successful, qualify for a Gold CSCS or CSR Card. The Level 4 NVQ is also a requirement for the CSR Supervisory Gold Card going forward from 2024.

Eligibility

This programme is designed for those starting out in a supervisory role, first line supervisors or for assistant site managers within the construction industry.


Assessment

Competence is assessed by ongoing assessments against the NVQ standards relating to specific areas of supervision, which include:

Candidates must prove competence in 14 units, dependent on the NVQ they are following.


Provision of Assessment

Candidates will be allocated an assessor who acts as mentor and guide throughout the programme. The programme will include an induction which relates to the overall course and provides guidance on how the NVQ is formulated and presented. In addition, candidates will attend for briefing and assessment for each of the units either on site, at an agreed location or virtually.


Duration

It is normal for candidates to complete the programme in approximately 3 - 12 months, although it is possible to do so in a shorter period.


Grant

A grant of £1,000 may be payable from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB NI) to registered employers on successful completion.
