The Construction NVQ, Level 4, Level 6 and Level 7, is a convenient route to qualifications for busy professionals, with flexible times to suit the candidate. NVQs can be completed face to face or/and by virtual media. This qualification is offered through Pearson Edexcel as the awarding body.
Candidates can commence a NVQ at a time during the calendar year that is most suitable for him/her. Assessment is measured on work-based evidence and professional discussions to determine outcome. There is no academic requirement and there are no examinations for construction NVQs as they are competence-based qualifications.
Requirement for CSCS/CSR Gold card
The successful completion of the Level 3 NVQ qualification enables candidates to take the Supervisor Health and Safety test and, if successful, qualify for a Gold CSCS or CSR Card.
Requirement for CSCS/CSR Gold card
The successful completion of the NVQ 4 qualification in Construction Site Supervision enables candidates to take the Supervisor and Manager CSCS Health and Safety test.
Requirement for CSCS Black card or CSR Platinum card.
The successful completion of Level 6 NVQ leads to chartered membership of the CIOB as a chartered construction manager on completion of the professional review application.
The successful completion of the Level 6 NVQ programme in Construction Contracting Management Operations leads to chartered membership of the CIOB as a chartered construction manager on completion of the professional review application.
Requirement for CSR Black card. The successful completion of Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management leads to chartered membership of the CIOB as a Chartered construction manager by way of a shortened version of the professional review.
